What is the maximum security deposit amount?
One month's rent excluding charges for an unfurnished unit, two months for a furnished one (law of 6 July 1989, decree n°2015-587). A higher amount is an unfair clause.
Can my landlord ban pets?
No, a clause banning pet ownership (except dangerous-category dogs) is deemed unwritten (law of 9 July 1970, art. 10).
